The Story of Our Lives

As I've recently been thinking about the next steps I've been taking in my life, I've been thinking about the saying, "The Story of Our Lives." What will my next chapter be? Well exactly what I make of it. Sometimes we get stuck on the same page in our lives with the same people and doing the same things, going no where. Some pages are scary to continue to read while others seem to weigh a hundred pounds, like text book pages, which I swear are coded with lead just to make them heavy for students, and need some extra helping hands to turn. Some of us are "faster readers" than others living life in the fast lane, while others take it nice and slow. How ever we live our lives this fact remains, "The Story of Our Lives" is exactly what we make of it. We are the main character! We are given a vast variety of different backgrounds, settings, and other characters to interact with, but ultimately we decide what we will become; and above all each of us have the ability to make a "happily ever after" for ourselves. So whatever chapter you are in with your life, press forward and make a great story that will be remembered through time.

Solid, liquid, or maybe a plasma!

In inspiraton of and in dedication to Kelli Golden. The question of, is pudding a liquid a solid? is discussed. One of my life long dreams has always been to cannon ball from a high dive into a pool full of orange jello. Though the jello debate of liquid or solid is a little more concrete on that it's a solid, pudding is just as equally important and probably more overlooked. So what is it? A liquid or a solid? Who cares? Well have you ever tried taking pudding onto a plane? According to a reliable source, Kelli Golden who is an adventure seeking college student studying geography, you are not allowed to take pudding on to and airplane. Oh the humanity. We live in days where because of different factors airline secuirity is no in need of confiscating pudding on airlines. Does it matter on what flavor it is? Is maybe pistachio and tapioca pudding with their nut and jelly bits a little bit more solid then the classic chocolate or vanilla pudding? So if you have an opinion on wether your pudding is a solid or liquid speak up and let me know! Random Thoughts

So I had a random thought today on campus. And random thoughts are usually fifty fifty. They can either lead to ideas that will make you billions or weird looks from people. Anyways I was walking as it was storming this morning and I saw one of them freshman tour groups. You know, where they take the little freshman all wide eyed around campus with their family showing them everything. Well at times these peole drive around in these tour cart things and when it's stormy they have clear plastic covers that go over them. Well maybe it was because it was raining or maybe it was because the people were looking around at campus like japenese tourists, but I had the thought that I could see a giant T-rex, just like the one in Jurassic Park, coming down and attacking them. So with that and a new found smile on my face I continued my journey to work....

Evolution

So recently in biology we have been discussing evolution. The definition used for the class is a change in the frequency of a phenotype in a population. What is a phenotype you ask? It is the physical expression of a gene. Also discussed is that evolution has no real direction. It has no aim to get better or worse. It's simply change. So as I thought about this the random thought crossed my mind that this is true! Evidence being the evolution of fashion. It really has no direction for the better as more and more people are trying to "express" themselves.

Super Hero

What really makes a super hero? This question has been asked and debated since the first ideas of people doing super human things crossed comic book writers minds. From the age old debate of Super Man or Batman to Marvel and DC battling for the greatest heroes of all time in both the pages of comic books, to the silver screen, and even to saturday morning cartoons. So what makes a super hero? Does he have to have a super power? Be bitten by a radio active spider, be a super strong alien from a distant planet, or be able to run at incredible speeds? Or can he simply have everything on his utility belt, drive a fancy car, or have an arc reactor in his chest? Or can it be simpler than all of this? I'm sure that all of us have people in our lives that we consider heroes and maybe even super heroes. Everyday normal people who do extraordinary things. These people seem to rise above adversity despite all odds and make a difference in the world. Some are family or friends and some we may not even know personally. As for me I have been privileged to have many heroes around me and am thankful for the example these people set for my life. So even if you found out you can't fly by jumping off the roof in your Super Man pajamas (hence the label that they do not actually give superpowers)......You can make a difference in someones life. You can be a hero to someone. You may not have to rescue someone from a burning building, or fight super villains, heck you may even become an unsung hero to the masses, but you will mean the world to those around you. So lift your head up, see what you can contribute to the world and go out and make it a better place for all of us to live.
