Peanerbutt....

Sooooo here's a little story of an embarrassing moment that happened to me in high school. We were going through the work of Shakespeare and his piece Romeo and Juliet, like every other English high school class in the nation. Since understanding Shakespeare is as easy as understanding rocket physics, we as groups each took a small piece of the production and put it into modern day English. With my huge anxiety of talking in front of people and the girl I had liked my whole high school career sitting in the front row, it was the elements for a perfect storm of embarrassment.
My part was simple. I just had to reply to the polices question and state that Mercutio and Romeo began to fight. With my fear I went back in forth in my head over and over again if I should say "they began to fight," or "they started to fight." With both these phrases fighting for their spotlight and my anxiety, I nervously said, "Mercutio and Romeo began to fart." At this time, anyone who was sleeping, which is most people while reading Shakespeare in a high school class setting, were definitely no longer sleeping.....
So why do I tell you this? Well hopefully you got a laugh out of it, but I was with my girlfriend the other day and she had a similar experience. We went to the Sugar and Spice area at BYU for some ice cream and noticed something that wasn't quite right in the picture below....

The reeses pieces and the peanuts were in the wrong containers! My girlfriend went to comment on this to her friend working on the counter and some how got reeses pieces, peanuts and peanut butter all combined in one and said "Hey peanerbutts!" At this moment to be honest I did laugh, but I also realized that we are definitely kindred spirits.

What I discovered in the self checkout lane at Macey's....

Getting the Boot

Any college student who has a car, knows the fear this sign strikes into anyone trying to park.

These kinds of regulations not only cause fear of a ticket or even towing, but also frustration because there usually is very little to no parking in most of the awfully designed apartment parking lots.

What I find to be really ironic is this boot idea.
Can you just imagine sitting in on the meeting where
they decided that this was a good idea?
"Well we don't want these hooligan college students
parking here if they don't have a parking permit,
but what can we do about it?" "I know! Lets put a boot on
their car so they can't move their car from that
parking spot unless they pay us money!"
.........
Am I the only one who sees the irony here?
Not only does this cause frustration to people who do
have a parking permit who now have one less parking
space in an already crowded parking area, but the person
who got "booted" now has to wait for the usually
"slow to get to you," parking enforcement
just to give them money.
Something needs to change.

Just in case you forgot....

It's always nice to have a few reminders on the things that we all know how to do and know we should be doing!

Especially if you're like me and on instinct tried to read this counter clock wise and went straight from step 1 to step 6. This means to effectively wash my hands I can skip steps through 5 and go from "wet hands" straight to "turn off taps with towel." How convenient!
