Entomology!

Entomology is a pretty big word that many people I talk with, don't have any idea what it is. Though it is a word that is not used in everyday language, it is a word that now describes me and my studies here at BYU. For those who don't know entomology is the study of insects, bugs, and creepy crawlies. Though I do have to admit, I feel like I sound cooler saying entomology and a little more like a nerd saying I study bugs; it is what I love to do. Everything from collecting to studying behavior and life patterns and habitats of all different types of insects and creepy crawlies. To some this would disgust or deter, but in my studies I have come to see the marvels of Gods creations and gained more of not only my own behavior and being, but really all life around me.

The question does come up though, what can one do with a degree in biology emphasizing in entomology. Recently I have actually seen many things that people are doing with bugs, that I find are more outside the box. Anything from selling insect jewlery at the freedom festival here in Provo, to selling more exotic bugs like the man in the video link below. Though I would like to collect insects and possibly sell them as stated, I would also like to continue my studies and understanding of not only of the insect world, but the living world at large. Feel free to continue to follow and read not only about insects and all that, but all about the crazy yet comedic things that go on in my life, the fun adventures, and the random thoughts that I have!
